In this lesson, participants will learn about the history of the credit system and how it works, how to check your credit score, what informs your credit score, and its significant influence over our financial lives.
Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of the basics of credit and how credit scores are calculated. Participants will know who to contact for support in varying situations of credit challenges and how to advocate for their needs, as well as how to recognize and avoid common credit scams. Finally, participants will be equipped with the language and strategies to navigate the ways the credit system may perpetuate financial trauma and how to secure/restore material safety.
