Introduction to Wealth Justice

In this lesson, participants will learn about The City of Saint Paul’s partnership with the wealth justice organizations, 10Seven & BlackFem, and more foundational information about these organizations’ approach to wealth justice and financial shame.

About Lesson

Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of the Traumagraph™ research and how their interactions with financial systems are often dictated by systems outside of their control.

During this lesson you can expect to:

  • Reframe and expand your understanding of “wealth” and envision the life you want to live
  • Understand important, foundational financial and socioeconomic concepts taught through a trauma-informed lens
  • Receive tools and knowledge to navigate an economic system that can work against you and be harmful
  • Understand the predominant experiences people face when participating in the economy and the various ways in which people can respond
  • Learn about self-blame and how you can manage this response
  • Partake in interactive activities that apply the lesson concepts to your own life and experiences
