Introduction to Wealth Justice

In this lesson, participants will learn about The City of Saint Paul’s partnership with the wealth justice organizations, 10Seven & BlackFem, and more foundational information about these organizations’ approach to wealth justice and financial shame.

About Lesson

Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of the Traumagraph™ research and how their interactions with financial systems are often dictated by systems outside of their control.

During this lesson you can expect to:

Reframe and expand your understanding of “wealth” and envision the life you want to live
Understand important, foundational financial and socioeconomic concepts taught through a trauma-informed lens
Receive tools and knowledge to navigate an economic system that can work against you and be harmful
Understand the predominant experiences people face when participating in the economy and the various ways in which people can respond
Learn about self-blame and how you can manage this response
Partake in interactive activities that apply the lesson concepts to your own life and experiences
