In this lesson, participants will learn all about bank institutions, common bank practices that may result in socioeconomic harm, how banks make money, and their influence over our financial lives.

About Lesson

Participants will leave the workshop with the knowledge of the basics of banking and the ways in which banking systems manipulate and disadvantage consumers. Participants will know who to contact for support in varying situations of banking challenges and how to advocate for their needs, as well as how to recognize and avoid common banking scams. Finally, participants will be equipped with the language and strategies to navigate the ways banks may perpetuate financial trauma and how to secure/restore material safety.
